So What’s Next?
Some scientists, such as Stephen Hawking, believe that the Universe will expand to a certain point and than start to contract back onto itself, otherwise known as the Big Crunch. When it does, they predict that there will be another Big Bang. In this case, the process would repeat itself for time immemorial. This begs the question of “How long has this been going on than?” Other scientists believe that black holes are where new universes are forming constantly. This leads to the question “How many universes are there than?” Whichever scenario is correct may never be known. But it does give one to pause and wonder when they look up at the stars.
