Uses Of Rockets

<Note: The following narrative is fictional. Any resemblance to actual events is somewhat accidental.>

In the begining there was war, and people killed each other with rocks and pointed sticks. And man looked at this and said, "this is not good. We must get to close to our enemies before we can kill them". So man invented the bow and arrow. And he looked at this and said "this is good". So he made the firework so he could celebrate. In the due course of time, man looked at the bow and arow, and thought, "this is good. I can kill quickly from a distance. But it is still not good enough". So he attached his fireworks to his arrows, and found that the arrows now flew much farther and faster. And he thought to himself, "this is good", and proceded to improve on the design, making larger rockets that could fly farther and kill more people.

Then one day a man came along and thought to himself "Wait! Rockets fly far and fast, why can't they carry something other than destruction devices?" So he put a dog on a rocket and launched it into orbit. And he thought to himself "This is good! My neighbors dog will no longer keep me awake at night with his yapping!" Eventually man came up with a brilliant idea. If he can use rockets to put a dog in space, why not that annoying guy from three doors down? And so, rockets were used to put a man into space. But he eventually returned, so rockets were used to put a man on the moon. This kept him away longer, but he still returned within a short period of time.

So man thought about the situation, and then proceded to use rockets to put a house in space, where he could then send the man for months at a time. And to keep him happy they gave him all sorts of scientific experiments to work on, and sent him rockets loaded with food every few weeks. And man looked at this and called it good.
