With a cool (literally) superconducting disk, or something else that might result from the research, beneath your brand new Ford pickup truck, you could zoom away across the horizon. And with the new methods of propulsion that could use this new principal economically, you could zoom at the perfect speed to watch the green flash for hours. Oh, but I hope you didn't bring any polar-express cards or visas with you with those big magnetics around.
What about completely earth-quake safe buildings? (this may be a little radical, but hey...) Just think, if gravity can be blocked, and some good technology is developed, there could be malls in the sky! Are you tired of 11 hour oversees flights? Just schedule for a stop at the Mid-Ocean Stretch Your Legs Center that's floating around in the sky.
Are the people upstairs being really obnoxious? Just go out your window with your handy-dandy levitating device with thrusters, go up to their window, and I'm sure you could think of something to do.
