Movement to improve Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) in the American Physical Societies Division of Plasma Physics: An Evidence Based Approach

Over the last 4 years the American Physical Society - Division of Plasma Physics (APS-DPP) has been working to improve our Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI). While this is very much a work in progress, this year we have started to implement a new Evidence Based Approach (EBA) to move forward. This approach (focuses on 5 areas this year) will be presented with a discussion about the need and other efforts in this area (some specifically aim toward the DPP LGBT+ community and Women in Plasma Physics. Depending on the time remaining (discussion will be welcome), I might also mention at the end a few science highlights from the APS-DPP annual meeting taking place this week.
