Initiating hydroelectric power into the future as a source of energy will in the long run be more cost efficient. The costs of creating dams and hydroelectric power stations are initially expensive and most consumers are unwilling to invest their money in something unknown. Fossil fuels on the other hand are used in our everyday lives and is relatively inexpensive. The problem is fossil fuels are depleting and we, the consumer, may need another source of energy in the future. Mother Earth can only take so much, but many think she is disposable.

Fossil fuels are creating ecological problems and health concerns. Whereas hydropower is clean (not burned); therefore, creating little pollution.

Hydropower is a positive alternative energy source that nature provides us. Nature lets us harvest solar, wind, and water to create electricity, so why not use it?

Only 3% of the United States' 80,000 dams generates hydroelectric power, just think if they all produced electricity? Would we need to rely as much on fossil fuels?
