THE LAWS

So you might be asking yourself; "What's the big deal with this guy anyhow?"
Among Newton's many accomplishments, perhaps the most famous are Newton's Laws of Motion.
                                                                        1. Every object continues in its state of rest, or of uniform velocity in a straight line, as long as no net force acts on it.
                                                                        2. The acceleration of an object is directly proportional to the net force acting on it, and is inversely proportional to it mass. The direction of the acceleration is in                                                                             the direction of the net force acting on the object. In other words, Force = mass x acceleration (F=ma)
                                                                        3. Whenever one object exerts a force on a second object, the second exerts an equal force in the opposite direction on the first.

...and what did the apple tree tell Newton...
"If gravity acts at the tops of trees and even at the tops of mountains, then perhaps it acts all the way to the Moon!"
This brought about the "law of universal gravitation" which states; Every particle in the universe attracts every other particle with a force that is proportional to the product of their masses and inversely proportional to the square of the distance between them. So there is, in fact, a very real physical attraction which happens between two people and its formula is:

F=G ( m1 x m2/ r^2)
