In any discussion of the
most influential physicists of all time, Michael Faraday's
name is at or near the top of the list. He may have the best
story of any physicist as well. Coming from a humble
upbringing, Faraday was a humble man who sacrificed his life
for the advancement of learning in

and physics, despite not knowing any math higher than basic
algebra.

despite his lack of education, he is considered the father of

who invented the first
