Early Years

Nikola was born in Croatia in 1856 to an Orthodox priest and an extremely intelligent mother. As he grew up he saw his mother constantly inventing things for the house, he recipricated by inventing things in his sandbox. Like the paddless water-wheel, at age five.


Nikola showed at an early age a passion for science and attended the Austrian Polytechnic School at Graz, where he studied mechanical and electrical engineering.
