- Curling was made an official sport in the
Olympics after being a demonstration sport in the 1988 Calgary
Olympics.
- Curling is done in more than 12
countries, excluding the birthplace of Scotland.
- There are curling clubs in all the
states, but is most popular in Canada and the northeastern United States
- Curling clubs in Scotland still curl
outside at least once a year when the lochs freeze over.
- It is relatively simple to get into
curling, especially since clubs are always looking for new people to
teach.
