Pros and Cons of Geothermal Power

Generation

Geothermal Power Generation produces no harmful contamination.

Electricity produced in Geothermal plants is cheap.

The Naturally heated water used at Geothermal plants can be used for other benefits, including hot water heating systems.

Geothermal is a renewable resource.

Development of Geothermal facilities is less expensive than developing fossil fuel facilities.

Cons:

Pros:

Geothermal Power is not available everywhere.

There is some affect on geological stability when water is injected into dry rock (some geothermal power plants inject cold water into hot-dry rock to produce steam).
