Fuel
Cell Vehicles (FCV) or Hydrogen powered Vehicles
european prototype
A
fuel cell is a hydrogen-fueled chemical
reactor that generates electricity. Fuel cells have been around since
1839, but
did not gain popularity until NASA’s space program attempted to use
them. Basically
there is no pollution from this process. Since hydrogen makes up 90% of
our
atmosphere refueling should never be a problem. This form of
transportation
would provide a way for our society to lessen its dependence on fossil
fuels.
There are some vehicles on the roads today that use this process but
this is an
energy form still under development currently. This is by far the most
efficient alternate energy source and hydrogen power seems to have a
bright
future.
