Some
Things to Consider

Are we running out of Energy?
Standards of living are always changing with the advances
of new technologies, and with these changes more life can be spared were once
it may have perished. Each year our
world’s population grows larger and the demand for more energy is ever
growing with us. Today 75% of the world is surviving in less developed
countries, and if these people are to improve there standards of living, we
as a planet need to find a lasting source of energy. Rate of population increase
What are we doing to our Planet?
Ever since man gave up his nomadic ways and the agricultural
revolution took place an ever-small change in our atmosphere has been taking
place. Today nearly 21 billion tones
of carbon dioxide are put into the atmosphere with modern mans
inventions. As these gases accumulate they trap more and more heat
within our earths atmosphere giving what is renown as the Greenhouse effect
or Global warming. Over time these
changes are slowly increasing the average world temperatures, as well as
changing weather patterns, and an ever-growing concern of the melting ice
caps is steadily getting more attention.
If such things are allowed to continue, it could change our planet on
a global scale to the point were present life would be much different from
what we are used to seeing today.
Thus far today
mans active contribution to the growing threat and concern of the Greenhouse
effect are generally as follows: CO2 Carbon dioxide 60% CH4 Methane 20% CFC’s
Halocarbons 14% N2O Nitrous oxide 6% |
